It’s Springtime at The Princess!

Hello-Hello, welcome to another day of fun and frivolity here at The Prepatorium.

In the interest of lifting spirits just a tad we are going to look at springtime goodies today, avoiding coverage of London Fashion Week in favor of something more crassly commercial entertaining.

Everyone knows we go a little gaga for things with a nautical theme; you can imagine our reaction when first seeing this Giant Whale Eraser from our spring Jonathan Adler collection.

PreppyPrincess.com

The erasers come in four patterns ($9.50), they *all* make a fabulous style statement on your desk.

There are other Adler treasures using that cute whale design, including Sticky Notes ($8.50).

PreppyPrincess.com

The Binder Clips Set ($9.50) also incorporates the whale design.

PreppyPrincess.com

We are just tickled to see nautically-inclined items in our spring Lilly Pulitzer Stationery & Gifts collection, like the stickers that are in this year’s Stickers and Labels Set ($9.50).

PreppyPrincess.com

More Lilly items carrying the nautical theme, one of the new Note Cube ($15.50 ) designs, as well as the Hit Me! Playing Cards ($17.50).

The new Note Cubes come with a Lilly pen, and have 600 sheets printed with snappy designs. The “You’re Flagged” pattern is also seen on the spring Market Bags ($9.50) and the new iPhone 3G/4G cases. (The iPhone cases are mostly in, the Touch cases won’t arrive until April.)

Back to Jonathan Adler, another new item this spring is really for the pet(s) in residence at your Palace.

PreppyPrincess.com

Colorful collars and leads are done with durable canvas and grosgrain ribbon, and while we love our custom leads and collars, these are a bright, vibrant alternative.

The Collars and Leashes run from $14.50 to $17.50, we will have them in stock in April. Another item expected from Mr. Adler in April:

iPhone 3G/4G Covers in the Chevron, Plume and Links patterns.

The Consort has used an Adler case on his iPhone for months, he likes it so much now he wants an Adler iPad Cover ($29.50).

PreppyPrincess.com

Of course, yours truly also wants to try out the new Lilly Pulitzer iPad Covers due here in April. Just when we are getting him adjusted to our monogramed iPad cover! (We’ll share that in a moment.)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Another new addition here at The Princess, Baby Prep, with über-snuggly baby blankets ($24) bordered in argyle and sailboats.

There are insulated Bottle Bags ($10) in oh-so-preppy madras and argyle prints.

The Burp Cloth Sets are darling ($12 for a four-pack), as are the Washcloth Sets ($12 for a pack of five).

We have enjoyed such a strong reaction to our Tiny Prep line for your Young Misses and Masters, it seemed only appropriate we offer goods for newborns and infants!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Finally today, we show off share some of our nifty new iPad cases by Lovie & Dodge.

PreppyPrincess.com

With apologies for our less-than-stellar photos, here are bigger images.

These are now shipping to customers, and soon we will have personalized sleeves for laptops.

The sleeves will be available for 13″ and 15″ laptops, both these and the iPad cases make ideal graduation gifts.

That is a fraction of the new goods arriving daily, we hope there is something that tickles your fancy!

Lilly Spring 2011 Pt. 2, “Prep Style Here To Stay” & Sears Buying J. Crew?

Hello-Hello, it is one wild Wednesday here at the Prepatorium, please accept our apologies for such a tardy and lengthy post, sadly it is one of our tedious ‘Wednursday’ (Wednesday-Thursday) epistles, two days of news crammed into one.  Sigh.

As promised, we continue with our preview of this spring’s Lilly Pulitzer Stationery & Gifts collection. (Part 1 may be found here.) We begin with something that is always popular, especially as we approach the season for planning showers, graduation galas, and all sorts of celebrations, Lilly tableware.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

Pre-orders start this week for the new tumblers, napkins, plates and other partyware, with shipping planned for the first or second week of February.  Patterns include Floaters (the lush green and pink design shown above), Do the Wave seen below right… .

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

..and However You Slice It, shown below.

"However You Slice It"

A fun item for any casual get-together, new acrylic Wine Glasses that are cute and carefree.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

We do adore the way Lilly creates special treasures for Minnies, and our next item is no exception: the Insulated Lunch Totes are made just for the little ones, but seem likely to be ‘borrowed’ (as in permanently) by whimsical Lilly-loving adults, including your faithful correspondent.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

We show a Tote in Later Gator (the child-sized water bottles are available now, part of the winter line), these also come in Desert Tort.  We like that they are all BPA, phthalate and lead-free; the Lunch Totes have an inside pocket and also come with an ID tag, they will run $19.50, due here at The Prepatorium in early to mid-March.

Now available for pre-ordering, this spring’s Lilly Dress Magnets.  The magnets are $12.50 and will ship the first or second week of February.

PreppyPrincess.com

Sure to be popular (but not slated to ship until April), the new Croakies (Princess, do *not* use that name, it is trademarked) sunglass straps.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

These are adjustable, reversible, and they can even go in the wash.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

Patterns include Later Gator, Floaters, Bloomers and Desert Tort; these will be $8.50.

Always ideal for gifting, the new Picture Frames do not disappoint.

Lily Pulitzer Spring 2011

Available the first week in February, the frames come in Stuffed Shells (above), Buy Local Patch (below L), and Heritage Floral (below R).

Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2011

And the new Photo Albums look equally elegant.

"Do The Wave"

The Consort has been typing his little fingers to the bone getting things online, the new Lilly iPhone 3/4 and iPod Touch Cases are up and available for pre-ordering should that be appealing.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We move on to share a few quick hits in an effort to stay abreast of preppish things; today AOL’s ShelterPop shared news that it’s Not just for college dorms rooms, prep style is here to stay.Ahem.

More from the story:

“Being preppy is more than just a sartorial statement, it’s a way of life. However, you don’t have to join the country club to co-opt a preppy vibe for your home.”

There are a number of fun photos accompanying the piece, with rooms styled by designer Jack Levy, as well as this montage.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Targét has announced its next designer collaboration.

Calypso St. Barth via InStyle

InStyle reports the retailer is partnering with Calypso St. Barth for a limited-edition home and fashion collection launching May 1st.

“…the collection will include clothing and accessories for women and children, plus home goods like candles, pillows and glassware.”

This one seems perfectly timed for spring and summer.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Also, word that faux-prep school alum Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel’s upcoming Mademoiselle handbag line.

Courtesy Photo via WWD

WWD reported the much-rumored story today, the line launches this spring, Chanel Grand Pooh-bah Karl Lagerfeld will shoot the campaign himself.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Finally, reports are surfacing about a possible impediment to the planned sale of J. Crew.  From a Bloomberg story late today:

Sears Holdings Corp. and Urban Outfitters Inc. are weighing rival bids for clothing retailer J. Crew Group Inc. in a potential challenge to TPG Capital and Leonard Green & Partners LP’s $3 billion buyout, said three people with knowledge of the matter.”

It doesn’t take a stockologist to know this has all the makings of a sticky wicket, we can’t think of anyone who would be in favor of a Sears-J. Crew deal.  More from the Bloomberg story:

“Sears buying the clothing chain “would be great for Sears, but horrible for J. Crew,” said Christine Chen, a San Francisco-based analyst for Needham & Co. “J. Crew is positioned as aspirational and Sears is not. It would have a negative impact on the J. Crew brand.”

Princess readers won’t be surprised to read the interwebs are burning up with all manner of speculation and commentary.  From 24/7 Wall St.:

“What is interesting about Sears as a possible buyer is that it did make a similar acquisition in the past when it acquired Lands End, a catalog retail apparel company.

“The surprising company on the surface is Urban Outfitters Inc. It caters to a younger audience with its Urban Outfitters name-brand and it also has Anthropologie, Free People, and Terrain.”

For more on this developing story, Bloomberg’s coverage is here, and Wall St. 24/7 Wall St. is here.

With thanks for your kind patience as we muddle through the crazy daze! days. 🙂

Sneak Peek: Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2011 Stationery & Gifts

Hello-Hello, we are having another one of those oh-so-dreary days common in The Great Midwest at this time of year.  But all is not gloomy, nay-nay, as we have bright and sunny images to share from our upcoming Spring 2011 collection of Lilly Pulitzer Stationery & Gifts.

Because we have a lengthy commitment away from the Prepatorium today, we’ll post a few items today then have more tomorrow.

One of the most sought-after items has to be the new iPad covers, shipping in early March.

PreppyPrincess.com

Designed specifically for the iPad, this is a snug silicone cover, available in the two patterns shown above, You’re Flagged and Bloomers, retailing at $24.50. We will also have a new iPad/Netbook sleeve, this one crafted from neoprene, similar to the current Lilly Laptop Cases and our Jonathan Adler Laptop Sleeves, these will be $24.50.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

Also new to the line, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch cases, in addition to cases for iPhone 3G and 3GS.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

The iPhone 3 and iPod Touch cases will be $19.50, with the iPhone 4 cases running $24.50. Here is a better look, with four new patterns for both iPhone models, and two designs for the iPod.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

These will be shipping the first or second week of February, and will be available for pre-ordering later today. Additionally, they have been reformulated to eliminate the issues of chipping and/or flaking of the pattern that some users experienced.

The Thermal Mugs have also been remodeled, and we know Lilly lovers will be tickled pink to learn they will be able to go in the dishwasher! These will also be shipping the first or second week of February, and they will remain $14.50.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

Pre-ordering for will be offered later this week.

The new Insulated Coolers are going to be ideal for summer at the beach, picnics and parties, and sure to add some flair to next fall’s tailgating. These will be available early March in Floaters (shown below) and Do the Wave, priced at $29.50.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

Not only do they zip closed, they also come with a bottle opener. For your Diet Coke, of course.

We leave you with a look at the new Market Bags shipping mid-February.

Lilly Pulitzer at PreppyPrincess.com

Our favorite could be the “Ten Speed” in pink and orange, we love the Buy Local message.

The new patterns are very appealing, and so many of the products added to the collection are not only fun, but also very practical, as well as eminently giftable. As mentioned, we’ll share more tomorrow, and we’ll also be doing a mailing to our Lilly Pulitzer subscribers with more images, availability dates, etc..  (If not subscribed, the lower right of our front page at The Princess makes sign-up easy, and we don’t bombard you with email, maybe once every month or six weeks at the most, nor do we share your email. Not with anyone.)

With that we’re about to bundle up against the snow and cold!

What the Lilly Pulitzer Sale Means

Hello-Hello, what a delightful Wednesday it is here at The Prepatorium, albeit it a little harried.

We shift directions today in light of yesterday’s big announcement that Lilly Pulitzer has been sold to Oxford Industries.

Via Fibre2Fashion.com

We have had a few queries on the topic, and thought it best to look at this development rather than engaging in our usual blather and drivel our planned post more relative to seasonal goings-on.

Back to the deal: Oxford was prepared, posting a link on its home page to “a retrospective look at the Lilly Pulitzer brand” via a You Tube video.

The clip offers a nice look back at Lilly history, including images of patterns and prints, iconic designs and celebrities in Lilly.

Oxford also co-hosted a conference call with Lilly’s management team to share details about the sale and what it portends for the future.

First a bit of background on Oxford. The company owns Tommy Bahama

And Ben Sherman.

Courtesy Photo via WWD

Here is how the Times’ Dealbook described the purchase:

“In the world of deal-making, prep is still in, and pink is looking awfully pretty.

“One month after J. Crew agreed to sell itself to two buyout firms, the parent company of Lilly Pulitzer — the maker of eye-catching dresses for the horsey set — sold itself on Tuesday to Oxford Industries for $60 million in cash.

And this from Michael de la Merced’s Dealbook story about on Lilly’s place on Planet Prep:

“No less an authority than “The Official Preppy Handbook” declared that the company’s golf skirt and beach dress were must-haves for Muffie and her friends.”

What does it all mean to us, the consumers? Here is what Lilly noted on its Facebook page:

“Good news travels fast! Here’s the juice…Sugartown Worldwide (the parent company of Lilly Pulitzer) was acquired by Oxford Industries. We are smiling ear to ear because everything will stay the same, only better. The company will be under the same leadership – aka Brad and Scott and everyone else here you adore. We are… in love with Oxford because they LOVE Lilly and want us to be JUST AS WE ARE, only more more more.”

From a WWD story on the acquisition:

“…the plan is to add to the Lilly Pulitzer stable of company-owned retail stores and enhance its e-commerce site, which launched two years ago and accounts for more than 10 percent of sales. E-commerce is viewed as “the biggest opportunity,”…”

Jean Palmieri’s story in WWD notes Oxford plans to add 4 to 7 new stores a year to the existing 16 corporate stores.  This may be good news in many respects, but there is significant anxiety from non-corporate stores, as all Tommy Bahama stores are owned by Oxford.

A few thoughts:

  • When a company is publicly traded there are different goals. Shareholders have profit expectations, and those expectations must be met. Having worked for both privately held and publicly traded media companies over the years, there *is* a difference. By the same token, Lilly Pulitzer is already engaged in making money, it hasn’t ever been a not-for-profit endeavor.  However, an additional $20 million dollars is on the table if Lilly meets certain earnings targets. It doesn’t take an MBA to recognize that amount of money can be a strong motivator in finding ways to meet such goals.
  • The current management team will remain at the Pink Palace.  Scott Beaumont and Jim Bradbeer, (CEO & President, respectively) brought the brand back from the grave and have demonstrated they know their stuff, we admire their business acumen. Those two gentlemen are very savvy marketers.
  • The Lilly Warehouse sales will remain in KOP (King of Prussia, home to the Lilly Mothership).

How will Oxford/Lilly react to customer concerns about quality, direction, and brand dilution? That is an unknown. Lilly Pulitzer has an extraordinarily passionate customer base, not quite on par with Apple (but close), with a devoted, almost-cult-like following.  Consumers know prints by name, specific garments by cut and style: the Bowen dress, Paley Cardigan, McKims sandals, and recently, the wildly popular Murfee scarf, to name just a few of the items buyers covet.  (Yes, we have a few favorites as well!) The Re-Lilly Facebook group has grown to more than 2700 fans in just one year, followers who buy, sell, swap and share Lilly merchandise, tips and tidbits.

Some believe Lilly is no longer as “special” as it once was. Messrs. Bradbeer and Beaumont have done a stellar job bringing the brand back from the grave, to be sure.  But recent collaborations have troubled some customers, the LeSportSac partnership seemed especially irksome to many, although it didn’t bother us.

The company has licensed or partnered with firms making everything from electric cars to cosmetics to stationery. (Full disclosure: we are sellers of the Lilly Pulitzer Stationery & Gifts line.)  The enormous Lilly Pulitzer Furniture Collection due out in the spring has sparked conversation as well. (More info and photos here.)  One area greeting the news favorably: the stock market, Oxford shares were up 22% as of this writing.

As Lilly’s executives noted on the conference call, they were not actively shopping the company, having declined previous approaches over the years. In this case conversations continued past the initial stage, and the offer transcended others in providing a solid “strategic and cultural fit,” according to Thomas Caldecot Chubb, III, Oxford’s president.

As with any transaction of this magnitude many factors are unknown. From a selfish perspective, we do love our Lilly, although we don’t live in it, in part because of the climate – The Great Midwest doesn’t encourage summer fashions year round. Sigh.  And we want to see the small, independent shops we love (hello Village Palm and many others!) continue to grow and thrive.  So we’ll cross our fingers and our toes, hoping that good things happen going forward.

More importantly, what do *you* think?

Friday Fun of a Preppish Sort

Hello-Hello, happy (happyhappyhappy) Friday.

In the spirit of the weekend, we are going to enjoy some Friday Fun, beginning with Apartment Therapy’s look at Colorfully Preppy Rooms.  We love the way this room reminds one of striped grosgrain ribbon.

Domino via Apartment Therapy

From the story:

“Think crochet games, sailboat races, argyle sweaters, and Oxford shirts. Coordinated style with a crisp, refined edge — these are rooms that would do any Bunny or Chip proud!”

Desire to Inspire via Apartment Therapy

It is a fun read with lots to love, our favorite is the fifth room, “Reminiscent of a closet full of button-downs…”.

Apartment Therapy DC has another story we think readers will get a kick out of: The Color of Prep: Accessories in Pink, Green & Old Money

Writer Catrin Morris delves into just why pink and green are the colors associated with preps, and the way those colors are incorporated in home decor.  A group of home accessories is also featured, including that fabulous Cape Madras pillow above.

Apartment Therapy

We covet several items, including the madras plaid French Bull Salad Servers (pssst, they also come in pink) and the Thomas Paul Coaster set.

More from the story:

“Preppy homes are very traditional, old money affairs, full of antiques passed down from elite forefathers, faded oriental rugs, rustic and practical outdoorsy accessories. Sailing, camping and hunting motifs abound. Worn plaid throws rest upon faded leather Chesterfields. You get the picture.”

Also shown, Grosgrain Napkin Rings (we are lucky enough to have been given a set by a friend, they are wonderful) and some of our Lilly Pulitzer Melamine Plates.

We are more than flattered to be included in the story, and enjoy seeing a number of our virtual pals mentioned as well, Christian at Ivy Style, and Allie at Summer is a Verb.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It looks like Brooks Brothers is extending its social media plans to include Twitter.  We have previously mentioned the retailer’s Facebook presence; the company is using that Facebook page to help select the design for its upcoming Twitter page.

Brooks Brothers

Click here for a better look at the three designs in the running.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We turn to the Halloween weekend now, and begin with a member of the Anti-Prep contingent. We are fairly certain everyone would sleep better this evening if they only knew what ‘Snooki’ plans to wear.

Courtesy Image via WWD

As the sketch shows (?) it is a pickle-themed costume, we’re guessing perhaps there is a reason for this…Ms. Snooki likes pickles?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Moving on, if we had been anywhere near the city last weekend, we would have headed straight to Tompkins Square Park for the annual Halloween Dog Parade, where we would have seen this.

AFP/Getty

Not generally what one expects to see when combining pearls, fur and a Tiffany’s box. This next one could well be our favorite, Gracie the pug in her replica of Scarlett O’Hara’s legendary dress made from the family’s green velvet drapes.

Clearly Lady Gaga is going to be much-imitated this season.

Timothy A. Clary/AFP

Mabel’s stab at the meat costume brings a smile, as does a Pomeranian dressed as Zorro, seen at a Philippines fundraiser.

Reuters

Whenever we see photos of this kind we stop and marvel at just how much our four-legged family members tolerate, and their infinite patience.  To see more pictures from the Tompkins Square Parade, click here.

With apologies for stooping to the dogs in costume level (dopey Princess), we hope everyone enjoys a happy and safe Halloween weekend!

Gossip Girls Do Chanel, New Designer Baby Goods at Targét

Hello-Hello and Happy Thursday from the corner condo here at The Prepatorium!

We apologize for the completely disorganized random nature of today’s post, we have only a few items to offer as we are simply swimming in a frenzy of business. Not that we complain, mind you, nay-nay, but there just are not enough hours in the day.

We begin with a summertime update on those favorite faux prep-school students from Gossip Girl.  It is the fall couture season, both Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were front row at Tuesday’s Chanel show in Paris.  WWD’s Stephane Feugere took these first two photos.

Ms. Meester wore leather Chanel while Ms. Lively was in a silk Chanel frock; both wore Christian Louboutin heels.

Ms. Meester and Ms. Lively, along with many other cast members, are shooting next season’s episodes in La Ville-Lumière (the City of Light).  We have nary a clue as to whether or not the following advisory is needed (TP has never seen an episode of the program), but we’ll trust the Women’s Wear Daily story; it carries an alert, so we shall share this advance warning as well.

***SPOILER ALERT***

There. Now it is safe to share a few tidbits:

“Blake Lively — aka Serena van der Woodsen — let slip a few plot hints at the Chanel couture show. “It involves hidden identities and Chuck and Blair bumping into each other, and just love affairs and beautiful clothes,” she said.”

Photo: FAME

Looking at the image of Ms. Lively approaching the set, we are more concerned about the return of even bigger shoulder pads are on the way than any plotlines. Below, costars Ed Westwick and Ms. Meester are seen in costume.

Even we can tell that this next snippet from the WWD story is safe to share, it shan’t ruin any upcoming episodes:

“Leighton Meester said she had just taken a break from her role as queen bee Blair Waldorf by playing a character who is “sort of dorky and uptight and a bit insecure” in the teen flick “Monte Carlo,” co-starring Selena Gomez and Katie Cassidy.”

Here are two more looks, via JustJared.

There may actually be some Chanel/Gossip Girl linkage if the rumors this photo prompted are reality.

Trago/FilmMagic via Glamour UK

The picture of Blake Lively and Karl Lagerfeld leaving the Ritz together has many speculating that the Chanel Grand-Pooh-Bah might be making a guest appearance on the show.

Another Gossip Girl phenom was spotted at men’s Fashion Week in Milan.

Giuseppe Cacace/AFP/Getty

Chace Crawford put in an appearance at the Dolce & Gabbana show last month.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Of course, everyone who is anyone on Planet Fashion is in Paris.

Gonzalo Fuentes/Reuters

We are simply smitten by the ensemble seen on Ms. Wintour below.

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Next, a look at some of the new infant goodies now available at Le Boutique Targét.

Target Courtesy Image via All the Rage

Several new designer collections are now available at Target through mid-October, according to this report at All the Rage. The cute pink and green items seen above are by Baby Buggy for Target, the other line being offered is by Little Seed, a maker of organic cotton goods.

Courtesy Target

Another special edition item at Le Boutique, Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bags in pink, and on the right, the bag in blue.

Both are also known as ‘Clever Carryall Diaper Bags’; both are $49.99

The designer duds and accessories are all part of a larger fundraising effort for Baby Buggy, the charitable group providing baby necessities to those in need.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Two quick Mad Men notes. First, a different look for Betty Draper actress January Jones.

Courtesy via InStyle

Ms. Jones is seen here in the look done by celebrity hair stylist Mark Townsend as part of his new online magazine. We are more used to this style for Betty.

AMC-TV

Our other note comes via Very Short List, a look at the soon-to-be-released “Mad Men Unbuttoned: A Romp Through 1960’s America.”

From the VSL story:

“Here you’ll find anecdotes and analyses of a time passed. Did you know, for instance, that Don Draper is based on a real ad man named Draper Daniels? Or that a polite wedding night in the ’60s didn’t involve sex? If yes, there’s plenty more.”

The book is available for pre-ordering at Amazon.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And a few quick updates to our Monday and Tuesday posts on the Lilly Pulitzer Fall 2010 Gift and Stationery Collection.  (Those not fond of Lilly can simply skip to our next items.)

  • Our first shipment of the new Lilly Agenda Books and Pocket Agendas arrives here at Princess Intergalactic HQ tomorrow! The Consort & I mighty Princess staff will have them turned around and winging their way to you late tomorrow or early Saturday.
  • The Lilly Personalized Acrylic Home Collection should be available around September 1st. As soon as we know more and have product photos we will post them on our Facebook page and/or here.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We share a few Argyle Adventures, these two via Under the Palm Tree; both are Lilly sweaters, both are reduced in price to $76.80 and both were originally $128.  The are also both the same model, on the left, the Halle sweater in pink and green argyle on white and on the right, the pink argyle Halle V-Neck.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Two quick Sales & Savings opportunities to share, the first at Vineyard Vines.

Vineyard Vines

And also at Garnet Hill.

GarnetHill.com

Because we care about the state of your pocketbook.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Our final image is another sent by our friend MLD (she of the Jon Hamm/Mad Men Mizzou story), this one answers the question “How hot is it?”

(No, that is not Silly Tilly, she said it was too hot for any photo ops!)
