Lilly Pulitzer Fall 2010 Stationery and Gift Collection, Part 2

Hello-Hello, and welcome back from the long weekend. Hopefully no one has melted yet, although that seems to be a peril again today.

We have our second post on the Lilly Pulitzer Fall 2010 Stationery and Gift Collection. (If you missed Part One, click here.)  The Consort The IT staff has been typing their little fingers to the bone, putting new goodies up on the site for pre-ordering, and we begin with a splendid item debuting with this group, the Lilly Umbrellas!

Lilly Pulitzer Umbrellas

We are now taking pre-orders on the Umbrellas ($28.50), they come in the Surf’s Blue Checking In and White Zin patterns. This Fall’s Collection brings new patterns for those wildly popular Lilly Market Bags.

The new additions to the group are Just Add Lemon and How About Them Apples. The new designs are available for pre-orders, of course our Creme Fraiche and Queen of Green bags ship immediately. (All are $10.)

One of our fave items has to be the Lilly Water Bottles for Adults and Minnies ($14.50); below we show the Childrens’ Bottles in Desert Tort and Lator Gator.

They go nicely with the Melamine Place Settings and Placemats. (These latter two items are from the spring line so they are available now, the water bottles are pre-order only.)

If seeking something not quite as involved as the bottle, how about a Lilly Pulitzer Koozie?

The Koozies ($4.95) are available for pre-ordering in Frisky Business, Checking In and Patch Day.

The Magnetic Boards ($18.50) have new patterns too: Checking In, Koi, and White Zin.

We are predicting these will be one of the hottest new gift items:

The Lilly Dress Magnets come five to a set and at only $12.50 they make a fab stocking-stuffer.

Two popular gift-giving items also come in the new patterns; the Lilly Watch Sets ($19.50) will be available for pre-orders this afternoon, Checking In and Patch Day are the new patterns in these.  Another high-volume item, is also getting additions in the new themes, the Lilly Ink Pen collection ($19.50).

One of the other items ideal as a present is the iPhone cover ($19.50); below we show it in Coral Me Crazy, along with one of the new watches in that pattern.

For those who may have missed yesterday’s post, we shared the new Agenda Books in both the Large Size

…and the Pocket Agenda size. These are available for immediate ordering; we expect to start shipping them at the end of the week.

Perhaps the most-anticipated items are from the new Personalized Home Collection.

The new recipe boxes, ice buckets, coasters and serving trays (two sizes!) are going to be outstanding additions to the line. We hope to have the information and pricing on this group next week, we’ll let you know when we do.

Here are the other particulars on the Lilly Fall Stationery Collection:

  • As mentioned above, the Agendas will ship approximately July 10 or 11
  • We are now taking pre-orders for the other goodies in the fall line; we expect to ship pre-ordered merchandise in mid-August
  • As always, we gift wrap at no charge and are happy to include a gift card with your order, so do let us know if it is a special present for someone
  • To be on top of the latest news and receive special discount offers on our Lilly collection, sign up for our Lilly Pulitzer newsletter here. (You will need to scroll down a bit, the box you are looking for is on the lower right of the page.) You can rest easy when signing up, we will never sell or share your email address or other personal information, that is a promise.

Everything looks so fun, we can’t wait to have it all in-house!

It’s too bad we can’t all get together for a massive ice cream sundae or sorbet! We send hopes everyone can stay reasonably cool and calm despite the heat wave, we are ever-so-grateful for air conditioning.

Earth Day at the Preppy Princess

Hello-Hello and welcome to another Earth Day!

We have mixed feelings about today’s post, as we are staunch proponents of abiding by environmentally responsible principles and policies every day.  A simple belief there is a big difference between doing things right… and doing the right thing.  Reducing, reusing, and recycling whenever and wherever possible. Sharing of your good fortune and of that which is most precious, yourself.

And we’re not crazy about discussing ourselves for many reasons, not the least of which is that we are a fairly tame (translation: b-o-r-i-n-g) collection of people and pets.  Nor do we find drawing attention to oneself to be good manners. But we are also dedicated to operating The Princess as transparently as possible, and as this blog is a big part of our public persona, we think people are entitled to know how we implement these philosophies in relationship to the shoppe.

For openers, we felt strongly about creating our Eco-Prep category of reuseable totes and market bags, believing that being green and being preppy should not be mutually exclusive terms.

We searched a long time for solutions to the “paper or plastic” dilemma that were also fun and fashionable. Above, our EnV Totes 3-bag set ($27)  and below, RuMe Individual Mini-totes ($8.50), all capable of carrying home loads from the grocery and also washable.

The philosophy impacts the business in more ways than just offering a better solution to the market totes situation.  For example, all Princess brand stationery products are printed on 100% recycled paper. Below, some of our Note Card selections, $22 per boxed set of 10.

Additionally, we try to offer products Made in the USA, believing it is wiser to avoid shipping goods from overseas while also supporting independent businesses.  For example, our Custom Belts and Preppy Pet items are made in New England, and all items in our Preppy Home group are American Made in places like Boston and Pennsylvania and South Carolina.  Kiel James Patrick makes his accessories in Rhode Island, and Candi’s Ribbon Flip-Flops are created in Michigan.

We will soon offer a Made in America category so shoppers can search products with that specific trait.

Some readers know firsthand that we feel opening a package from The Princess should make you smile; every order is gift-wrapped at no charge. We use 100% recycled tissue paper for this.

When appropriate we do use glossy paper from Lilly Pulitzer or Jonathan Adler.

Additionally we are also able to recycle packing peanuts in most instances for shipping fragile merchandise. The question has been asked: “if you’re using recycled tissue and packaging, why do you then put things in a plastic bag?” Simply put, because we know it would be far more wasteful to have items damaged in shipping, returned, new product shipped, etc.

While not specifically Earth Day related, we also believe being responsible transcends conserving and protecting natural resources, it extends to sharing our good fortune and supporting other resources.  That is why we donate 5% of profits to two organizations: the Fisher House Foundation, supporting our military families, and Dogs for the Deaf; both are rated Four-Stars by Charity Navigator. To date our contributions are more than $400 to each organization.

As promised, a yawn-inducing tale, but information we think should be shared for those interested. Being good corporate citizens is important to us. And we think being good to the environment can also be fun, like Brittnee shows us with her Lilly Pulitzer Market Bags ($10) from the Princess.

It’s up there with our belief that Life is Better with a Bow.

Happy Earth Day.
