Friday Fun, Sales & Savings of a Prepalicious Sort, That Wacky Hat is Everywhere

Hello-Hello, welcome to a Friday.  It has been an insane week, it seems like forever ago that we were gathered in front of our varying viewing platforms to watch the royal wedding.

A little Friday Fun is in order, and we start with a look at a delightful experiment, the first Lilly Pulitzer “lifestyle store” that opened in Raleigh this week.

Via Palm Avenue

Palm Avenue is the first Lilly store combining apparel and accessories with the new Home Furnishings & Accessories collection, the shop moved into a new location to accommodate everything.

Palm Avenue

We have some lovely photos inside the new store from our flickr friend castaff.

Via castaff

It’s fun to see how well the furniture and accessories are integrated into the store.

Via castaff

Palm Avenue also has photos, they are viewable on the store’s Facebook page.

The store’s official grand opening gala is this Thursday, the 12th.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Next, a follow-up to yesterday’s post on the Prep World pop-up shop. We mentioned that the London store was opening today and promised pictures.  Below, Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick at the opening.

Via Grazia UK

There were a number of celebrities at the event, including someone we really hadn’t associated with a preppish style, Ronnie Wood.

Via Grazia UK

From the Grazia story:

“For Tommy Hilfiger himself, attaining Pure Prepdom is a little more complex: “You need colour, you need madras, and you’ve gotta have seersuckers. You need to be holidaying in The Hamptons or Nantucket, and you should be wearing anything red, white and blue to look nautical. And even if you don’t know how to sail, you should pretend.”

Also on hand, model David Gandy.

We are way behind the times with our next topic, hopefully not everyone has already seen the story. We are speaking about Ralph Lauren’s “L’art de l’Automobile” exhibit in Paris that opened last week.

Jacques Brinon/AP

The designer is widely considered to have one of the finest collections of vintage sports and racing cars in the world, many of the automobiles are on view in the exhibit. The exhibition is at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs museum, the Lauren family looked elegant for the opening night gala, below (from L to R) Andrew Lauren, the designer and Ricky Lauren, David Lauren.

Some notable names were on hand for the party, including India Hicks (L) and Melanie Thierry (R).

One of our favorite French retailers, Colette, has a collection of polos in honor of the exhibition.  The Discovery Channel will be airing a documentary about the exhibit in several European countries over the summer, there is also a commemorative book.

If interested in learning more about the exhibit or the collection, click here to visit Mr. Lauren’s official site for the show.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We have a few quick Sales & Savings opportunities to share, the first actually pertains to establishments owned by the gentleman seen above; the Polo Ralph Lauren “Private Sale” (cough-cough) runs through Monday, with an additional 15% off already reduced merchandise.  Use promo code MAY0511 to receive the savings.

Over at Brooks Brothers the Friends and Family event is underway, offering 25% off all purchases.

Via Brooks Brothers

The 25% is good at both regular and outlet stores.  Use promo code 06FRIEND at checkout.

We leave you with a few news photos you may have missed in the frenzy of the week, all on the same topic. Now, some of us were somewhat dismayed at the Philip Treacy fascinator worn by Princess Beatrice to the wedding last week.

Little did we know how popular the hat was going to be.

Lilly Pulitzer Furniture, Kate Middleton in Burberry

Hello-Hello, welcome to a wet and rainy Wednesday, truly a beautiful thing. (When contrasted to the other form of precipitation recently seen here in The Great Midwest, of the white, flaky variety.)

We begin with a note of appreciation to our treasured readers, we thank you for your gracious patience as we undergo a little redesign of our space here on Planet Blog, it really was quite unexpected and not something we intended to do at this particular point in time. Unfortunately, your trusty scribe struggled mightily in comprehending the distinction between the “Preview” and “Activate” buttons when wasting time casually surfing intently studying design options for the blog. You can imagine the conversation here at The Prepatorium once yours truly realized that “Activate” meant precisely that.

TP: Ummm, do you have a sec? There might be a little hiccup with the blog.

TC: Define hiccup.

TP: Ahh, well… the layout looks kind of different.

TC: What is ‘kind of different’? Do you want me to go look at it or something?

TP: Ummm…both? Please?

Following The Consort’s time researching and fixing what could be fixed glancing at the blog and making a few changes, a conversation ensued.  There was some discussion that included questions about just how a certain someone with a hypothetically high IQ moderately distinguished educational record and decades of successful business performance a little background in the business world might confuse the “Activate” and “Preview” words. Indeed.

So please bear with us as we get the “new look” sorted out and integrated into the blog. (In reality, it must be noted The Consort deserves sainthood or similar recognition for his gallantry and patience in coping with what could have been a truly disastrous situation.)

Next, an update on the Lilly Pulitzer Furniture Collection launching this spring.

HFI Brands Facebook Page

With apologies to our Facebook fans for any repetition in content, we thought it appropriate to let those interested in the topic know that the company making the collection, HFI Brands, has launched its Facebook page.

HFI Brands Facebook Page

HFI has posted an album with images of the new line, there is much to see.

HFI Brands Facebook Page

Lilly fans will appreciate the brightly colored interiors of pieces like the Ocean TV Cabinet in white and blue, as well as the Mirasol Jewlery Armoire with that bright pink inside.

The collection includes more than 200 pieces, with something for everyone.  Upholstery pieces featuring the new Lee Jofa Lilly fabrics, case goods, accent and occasional pieces, mirrors and more.

HFI Brands

For those not on Facebook, hopefully HFI or Lilly will share photos on its website at some point.

One more quick note on Lilly, the company is profiled in Rent the Runway’s Behind the Seams column. For those not aware of the company and how it works, the website says that customers rent upscale dress and accessory brands online for 10% of an item’s retail price. While not familiar with the service, it certainly seems to offer a novel approach for frugal fashionistas.

At any rate, there is a nice little story with Janie Schoenborn in the company’s blog, done in a Q&A format.  Here is a sample:

How do you celebrate finishing a collection?

When we have decided on the prints we celebrate by naming them. We pride ourselves on the funny names we give the print…sometimes a little naughty. The team all gets a coffee (meaning cocktail) and we sit together and name…laughing all the way!

Frequent readers know we occasionally share the ways other countries and cultures define preppy. In today’s offering, “A Guide to Preppy” from UK retailer YogoEgo.

YogoEgo

From the montage, “This means preppy school girl classics with a twist of sophistication.”  Geared to the younger set, to be sure.

Finally today, Kate Middleton sported Burberry yesterday on a surprise visit to Belfast with Prince William yesterday.

Miss Middleton was applauded by the media for showcasing a British fashion house, the wool cashmere coat retails for roughly $1050 at today’s exchange rates.  Also yesterday, Clarence House released private Middleton family photos of the future Queen on the official Royal Wedding website, including this one of the couple the day they graduated from St. Andrews.

On that note, goodbye until next time!

Lilly Pulitzer’s Home Store Experiment, Serious Party Frocks & Pooches on Parade

Hello-Hello, welcome to another wacky week here at the Prepatorium, when all manner of things seem to be happening at the same time.

We begin with word that Lilly Pulitzer is going to experiment with a new type of store altogether, one that the company is going to try out in Raleigh, NC. Here is more from the News Observer’s story:

“The store will be a Lilly Pulitzer Lifestyle Store, the first Lilly Pulitzer store in the country to sell home and fashion items under one roof. It will be similar to stores from companies such as Anthropologie that put different kinds of merchandise in one outlet.”

Below, pieces from the soon-to-debut Lilly Pulitzer Furniture line via Dovecote Decor.

Photo via Dovecote Decor

According to the story putting apparel & accessories right alongside the new home furnishings collection from HFI is a test; we presume that if it is successful the practice will be replicated in other locations.

Via Dovecote Decor

On the surface it makes a great deal of sense, allowing the company to display even a few items from what is an *enormous* furniture collection of 200+ pieces alongside its iconic clothing and accessories.  We may have to impose upon our friends in the area to do a little investigating once this is up and running, hello, Adventures of a Southern Newlywed?

We move now to Fashion Week, with a look at Jason Wu’s wonderful RTW styles for this fall.

While the notion of dealing with anything for fall is anathema, the tailoring in this collection is simply stunning. Below, just a few of the designer’s gorgeous party frocks.

The word exquisite comes to mind.

As with all collections, the company invokes its nautical roots. Designer Chris Cox said his inspiration for the collection was Sleeping Bear Dunes on Lake Michigan.

From WWD’s review:

“Never forsaking the brand’s DNA, he transformed an archival peacoat into a form-fitting, elongated version, trimmed the suits to give them a fresh and modern feel and added several wool toggle coats for those crisp evenings at the boathouse.”

Television coverage begins this evening at 8pm on USA, switching to CNBC from 9-11pm; that schedule is repeated tomorrow night.

We hope to be back tomorrow with more, but it may be Wednesday before we can dig out from the mess that is the desk. Sigh. So we leave you with a Fashion Week photo selected with a few friends in mind (Preppy 101? Miss Julie?):

“The Importance of Being Preppy”

Hello-Hello!

Today we have a mish-mash (a highly technical journalistic term) of tidbits, many relating to topics recently chatted about in this space. The first is a story from our friends on the far side of the pond, “The Importance of Being Preppy“. The piece first ran in Saturday’s Guardian and has been picking up traction online, it profiles Tommy Hilfiger while also looking at the style many refer to as “preppy.”

Tim Know for The Guardian (UK)

Writer Hadley Freeman begins her story with a description of Mr. Hilfiger’s office.

“Even the designer’s office is American to a nigh-on parodic degree: on the top floor of an unassuming building in midtown Manhattan, Hilfiger has tricked the place out to resemble the inside of a chi-chi beach house, replete with white painted floorboards, beach chairs, antique mirrors and striped awnings, where waiters in white buttoned-up shirts tote around goblets of ice water with slivers of lemon.”

Some readers might already be speculating the story is pegged to the recent announcement from Mr. Hilfiger of Prep World, a capsule collection he is launching with True Prep author Lisa Birnbach; such speculation would be accurate. (For our tedious in-depth post on the topic and photos from the line, click here.)

Courtesy Image via Daily Front Row

Back to the story and Ms. Freeman’s description of the preppy aesthetic, it may surprise some readers.

“It is also, incidentally, a look that denotes wealth, or at least aspiration to it. Its nearest equivalent in Britain is the Sloane, but preppiness has less to do with old systems of class and more to do with new money.”

We suggest this might be surprising because of the general presumption that “preppy style” is attached to old money, not new. You know, back in the olden days when such things were not discussed?  (To be candid, any discussion of finances, be they rooted in relatives who floated over on the Mayflower or as new as this year’s hottest hedge fund, is vulgar and really not appropriate, we generally avoid the topic if at all possible.) Back to the Guardian story.

“…in lieu of having a centuries-old class system, America has a profound fascination with money. Along with Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren has long loved the preppy look, and many others – from up-and-coming designer Tory Burch to US high-street outlet J Crew – base their entire labels on the look. Hilfiger suggests its popularity now is a reaction to the global recession. After all, he says with a merry laugh, it’s a way of looking “not poor”.

The story’s timing also relates to Fashion Week, starting this evening; Mr. Hilfiger has been heavily promoting his runway shows via the company’s Facebook pages.

Via Facebook

Ms. Freeman’s story also offers detailed background on the brand:

“By the beginning of the 21st century, the Hilfiger brand had lost much of its fashion lustre, due to overdistribution and an overfondness of branding. “There was a bit of a backlash,” Hilfiger concedes with understatement.”

Understatement indeed.  Without commencing a yawn-inducing retrospective, we shall only say that we have long struggled with Mr. Hilfiger’s penchant for logos the size of canned hams.  Or bigger.  The designer’s recent move toward designs without his initials splattered everywhere is promising; we are intrigued to see the fall runway looks as well as the Prep World pieces.

Mr. Hilfiger is no stranger to the UK’s fashion faithful, during last fall’s London Fashion Week he appeared in a “My Week in Pictures” feature for the Guardian’s sister publication, The Observer.

Above, a photo from the feature shows the designer and his wife Dee with Jennifer Lopez.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Next, another story looks at the style, this one from The Cavalier Daily, UVA’s student newspaper. “Through pink-and green-colored glasses” provides a student’s view on “U.Va.’s preppy identity in popular culture”.  A snippet from the story by Caroline Massie:

“So where exactly does this reputation stem from? One may look to the year 1979 when alumnus Tom Shadyac (College, 1981) created the “Are you a preppie?” poster as a fundraiser for his fraternity, Sigma Chi, which needed money to pay off a debt.”

Mod Culture

“Shadyac said preppy attire was not unique to U.Va. at the time. Rather, it was prevalent among traditional East Coast colleges.

“Pink and green could’ve been our national colors,” he said.

To read Ms. Massie’s entire story, click here.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

One item that would have better fit in yesterday’s post with all of its bridal buzz, word that Isaac Mizrahi is doing a limited bridal line for Aisle New York, the online members-only (ahem) site offering flash sales of discounted gowns and accessories.

Courtesy Image via WWD

Here is more from Mr. Mizrahi’s site:

“Isaac’s capsule collection of gowns and accessories will be available for six months, launching at the end of February 2011. According to Isaac, “the best place to shop for your wedding gown is the privacy of your own computer.” Hooray for all you blushing brides!”

(If in need of an invite, just click here.)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The other mention that would have been much more appropriate yesterday, a look at House Beautiful’s March issue, the cover highlights the upcoming Lilly Pulitzer Furniture line in a feature titled “The Power of Pink”.

House Beautiful via Lilly Pulitzer blog

For those who haven’t yet seen the issue the Lilly blog offers a look at the story, while the House Beautiful website carries a number of wonderful pink tie-ins, including a delightful look at “Pink in Unusual Places” from The Accessorator, Judi Roaman.  Below, Ms. Roaman’s picture of the pink roses sculpture on Park Avenue.

Pop over and visit the Lilly blog for more, or click here for our post on the furniture line.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Our final two images are quasi-timely, the first involves a new movie and the other, Fashion Week.

Alberto E. Rodriguez for Paramount Pictures

Above, Justin Bieber last night as he arrives at the premiere of “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” in Los Angeles.   Next, Anna Wintour arriving for the Armani couture show in Paris last month.

Why haul out the pictures? Because we just had to do a little side-by-side comparison.

And Young Mister Bieber.

Not bad at all IOHO, the finger puppets are from Mullish Muse on etsy, we thought they were cute as could be and couldn’t resist sharing.

On that wacky note we say goodbye until next time.

Oh, That Bridal Biz & Poolside Preppy

Hello and happy Tuesday, the sun is shining here at the Prepatorium, it is a gorgeous winter day.

We have all manner of new bits and bytes today, we shall dive right in with a topic generating significant online buzz, Urban Outfitters‘ decision to get into the bridal business.

Kyle Ericksen/Women's Wear Daily

Women’s Wear Daily has a sneak peek at the line, here is a bit of Sharon Edelson’s story (an FYI, the name of the new line is not misspelled):

“There’s not a single Cinderella-style wedding gown in the Bhldn collection.

Bhldn, Urban Outfitters Inc.’s newest retail concept, is the firm’s attempt to put its unique, slightly off-kilter stamp on the bridal business.”

Bhldn delves into territory already explored (quite successfully) by J. Crew’s Wedding collection and freestanding boutique. There will be an online component as well as physical Bhldn stores, the e-commerce site is scheduled to be live on February 14.

Kyle Ericksen/Women's Wear Daily

Like Crew, Bhldn plans on carrying more than gowns and accessories, they want to be known for “special occasion dresses”. The company ultimately expects the website to expand beyond e-commerce, back to Ms. Edelson’s article:

“The Web site will eventually become a clearing house for services such as photography, catering and florists. “I can see us getting involved with event planning, helping with the look and feel of a wedding,” Norris said. “We’re not going to be like J.Lo’s [character] in ‘The Wedding Planner.’”

“We’ve taken DNA from Anthropologie,” Norris said. “I kind of think of Bhldn as the sophisticated older sister.”

And the name? We are guessing it is “beholden” sans vowels, for reasons our little pea brain is quite incapable of grasping.

As the WWD story notes, weddings continue to be big business, many other retailers are getting into the business or expanding existing lines; The Limited has launched an online-only Weddings & Events boutique.

The Limited

And Vera Wang has entered the mass-marketing venue with the Vera Wang White collection for David’s Bridal.

Vera Wang/David's Bridal

As the Times’ T Magazine explains:

“It’s official, ladies: You can now get married in Vera Wang for less than $1,500. Although the price may scream ABS by Allen Schwartz, design-wise, White, is all Vera.”

More from the White collection.

David's Bridal

Our final wedding note involves True Prep’s bestselling author, Lisa Birnbach.

Fashionable Bride

Fashionable Bride has a delightful piece on “preppy weddings” with insight from Ms. Birnbach.  The post is done in a Q&A format, and the first question asks about basic dos and don’ts:

Lisa Birnbach: ‘First, no rhinestones or crystals on the invitations. Ever. And it’s very nice to use engraving or letterpress.'”

One of the fun facts discovered in the piece by Kelly Skahan was a tidbit about seersucker wedding gowns from designer Michelle Roth.

Michelle Roth

Above we see Ms. Roth’s Zoe at the Ball dress in blue and white cotton seersucker.  Other versions include Zoe by the Bay, below left, and Zoe in the Country, with a crochet top and seersucker skirt. All are a bit foofy for our taste, but the notion of using seersucker for a bridal gown is one we like.

One gown from Ms. Roth that we fell in love with – the Maya.

Something about silk organza and polka dots just invokes images of sunshine and happy smiles.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Next, an early peek at yet another collaboration, this one from Trina Turk and Alice Supply. The new collection is showcased at She Finds, in a piece describing the designer as “the queen of California poolside preppy,” an appellation we like. Below, a coordinating ice bucket and glass.

Domestic tasks would have to be more fun with the pretty Dust Brush and Dust Pan from the upcoming line.

We don’t yet know when the collection will be available, click here to see all of the photos at She Finds.

A few fast notes on Ms. Turk’s more standard wares for spring and summer – we found lots to like.

The designer’s bright geometrics are always fun, frequently pieces employ classic lines ensuring longterm wearability.

We are also partial to Ms. Turk’s accessories and home goods, particularly her rugs and pillows.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We leave you with two quick Pretty in Pink items. The first involves the soon-to-launch Lilly Pulitzer Home Furnishings collection from HFI Brands.

Although the line will be available only to the trade (interior designers, decorators), you can now email furniture inquiries directly to the Pink Palace, just click here.

PHOTO: Patricia Sheridan via Louisville Courier-Press

(For more on the 200+ piece line, here is a link to one of our more involved posts on the topic.)

The other item is from the folks at Nantucket Noose, perfect for spring’s rainy days.

Nantucket Noose

The Island Hopper Boots come in other colors if the pink and green is a little too bright (is that possible?), the boots showcase a  beach permit near the top.

Until next time, g’bye!

Lilly Pulitzer Furniture, Target Design Collaborations

Hello-Hello, it is a glorious fall day here at the Prepatorium, bright skies and sunshine abound, we hope it is the same in your corner of the world.

We begin with an early look at some of the Lilly Pulitzer Furniture Collection, officially launched over the weekend.

Clearly there is potential for some serious Pretty in Pink.

As promised, the collection is alive with vivid colors.

The new line is being created in partnership with HFI Brands. One of the more interesting pieces is an ottoman, seen in green and white below.

The piece opens to reveal shoe storage.

Gimmicky? Absolutely. Practical? Probably, especially for many Lilly Lovers, occasionally (cough-cough) in need of a bit more shoe storage.  Also debuting next spring, the home decor and upholstery textile line by Lee Jofa.

Both lines clearly hold promise, we look forward to seeing them on our next market trip.  We send our thanks to Sophie Pyle for her generosity with the photos, to see more, click here.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Next, word that another noted name is doing a line at Le Boutique Targét.

The creator of the Glossy Posse, cosmetics pooh-bah Napoleon Perdis, makes his move into bath products with his new line at Target.  Women’s Wear Daily reports the line launches this Sunday.

A reminder about another designer collaboration, the Target Mulberry collection arrived online and in stores this Sunday.

Unfortunately every style online is sold out, one’s only opportunity to find the bags is at an actual store.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We have a few notes to share, the first about our friend Tickled Pink & Green: her blog has returned to its original home at Blogger. A nasty humanoid has hijacked her URL and is holding it hostage for an insane amount of $$$.  So pop in for a visit at this address, not the recent URL. Today is a good day for a visit, you can read about her excellent adventure with Hopsy at the Dallas True Prep event.

Courtesy Tickled Pink & Green

Our other note involves OPB (Official Princess Business): Hanukkah falls early this year, so personalization deadlines are also early.

We are excited about our Hanukkah and Christmas goodies from Clairebella, including Cutting Boards (seen above), Monogrammed Coasters, and Notecubes.

We’ll also be sharing some of our Christmas goodies in this space, but wanted to be sure and get the word out on the cutoff date for most Hanukkah orders.

Finally, if wondering how the Mad Men cast celebrated Sunday’s season finale, many were at a watch party.

Neilson Barnard/Getty

Above we see Cara Buono (Dr. Faye Miller), Elisabeth Moss (Peggy), writer/executive producer Matthew Weiner, Christina Hendricks (Joan) and Jon Hamm (Don Draper) before the big do at 21.

Until next time,may your day be filled with sunshine.

Updates on Lilly Furniture & an Anti-Prep, + a Mad Men Spoiler….?

Hello, and greetings from The Prepatorium, where we seem to be having a bit of the “Monday-on-a-Tuesday” syndrome, making today’s post somewhat brief.  Is anyone else encountering similar challenges, or are we the only one with our whiskers in a wad not feeling like we received all the french fries in today’s Happy Meal?

We begin with a quick peek at a few pieces from the upcoming Lilly Pulitzer Furniture Collection.

Courtesy Photo via Home Accents Today

The 200-piece Collection debuts later this week at the biannual High Point Furniture Market; the company partnering with Lilly on the undertaking is HFI Brands.

Courtesy Photo via Home Accents Today

For anyone wondering about a color palette, the Home Accents story features this quote from a company executive:

“”The Lilly Pulitzer Home collection promises to deliver Lilly’s same style, inspired color palette and unique sense of fun to consumers’ everyday lives.”

This photo also provides ample proof of the vibrant hues we’ll see in the line.

Courtesy Photo via Home Accents Today

(We do apologize to our FB Fans for the repetition of photos.)

Lilly Pulitzer isn’t the only fashion designer to announce a new furniture line, Jean-Paul Gaultier (he just showed his last  collection for Hermès and is taking over Lacoste design duties) is also planning a home collection.

Via MoCo Loco

Sometimes referred to as “the French fashion enfant terrible,” Mr. Gaultier has done furniture previously; this time he is partnering with upscale brand Roche-Bobois.  As MoCo Loco reports, many pieces will feature the designer’s nautical stripes.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Next, an update on one of our original AntiPreps, Kim Kardashian.

W Magazine via WSJ Speakeasy

The latest involves Ms. Kardashian’s sartorial selections for the W Magazine November cover photo. As in none. The Journal’s Speakeasy blog offers more:

“Of course having a naked reality star on the front of a publication has little to do with art–but it has everything to do with selling copies.”

Clearly the real issue isn’t the discreetly cropped image seen in the Speakeasy blog post, but this picture, also cropped (we are not posting the entire cover photo):

W Magazine

We let our subscription to W lapse for a variety of reasons: too many magazines but too little time, the ease of scanning portions of it online, the increasing lack of relevance to our lives.  All reasons impacting circulation and profits at most print publications. Back to Christopher John Farley’s post, it addresses the bigger picture:

“Kardashian, or one of her sisters, are safe bets to somehow be a part of more such endeavors in the future. Many other reality stars will no doubt remove every stitch if they so much as get a call from Cat Fancy magazine. But every time a star bares all, it will likely move fewer issues than the time before.”

Indeed.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Finally today, at least one online theory exists about what could happen in this Sunday’s final episode of Mad Men. (Sniff.) Below, an image from the upcoming show, Don Draper (okay, Jon Hamm) certainly looks troubled.

Michael Yarish/AMC-TV

We adore the way LittleSallyDraper (it really is all one word) is growing up, but fear her involvement with CreepyGlen (also all one word) is headed nowhere good. (For those who might not share our insane addiction watch the show, don’t be fooled by CreepyGlen’s uniform, he most assuredly *is not* your classic football hero.)

Michael Yarish/AMC-TV

One of our favorite aspects of the show is reveling in the vintage styles, like those seen on LittleSallyDraper and her mother, Betty Draper Francis.

Michael Yarish/AMC-TV

At any rate, the possible spoiler comes via Ben Cohen in his column “Mad Men Conspiracy Theories: Will Conrad Hilton Return?” Mr. Cohen puts forth some interesting possibilities, not the least of which is the episode’s title: “Tomorrowland”.  For more, visit the post, we couldn’t possibly risk ruining the end for anyone.

With that we’re out the door, hoping everyone has a sunny afternoon and an evening filled with moonbeams, both literal and magical.
