It’s a Pink & Green Monday

Hello-Hello, happy Pink & Green Monday!

PreppyPrincess.com

Today we must engage in crass commercialism, oh yes indeedy, reminding shoppers that goodies at TPP are 20% off until midnight tonight.

That means no matter which team you were pulling for, you can fly your colors at a great price with our Personalized Collegiate Garden & House Flags.

Personalized Onesies and Tees for the Tiny Prep on your list…

…are a great gift with monogram options like these whales, just a few of the many choices.

Personalized Plates and Platters are always a welcome gift, as are our Clairebella Cutting Boards.

Bright , whimsical lunch bags and Eco-Totes make nifty stocking stuffers.

It’s a great time to do Calendars and Agendas, including our Susan Wallace Barnes and our Cutie Calendars.

Greek goodies always make a nice gift, especially when they are as reasonably priced as our Donovan Designs note cards, luggage tags and notepads.

And you know our Lilly Pulitzer collection offers amazing possibilities for presents.

Jonathan Adler and Kiel James Patrick can help in those “Hmmm, what should I get?” situations.

A few of our best buys include our Magnet Packs ($10) in nine different sets of patterns and colors…

Our Boat Totes become an even better value with the discount, as do out other Totes and Bags.

But our hands-down, all-time best value remains our Custom Key Fob ($6 before the discount!), you get to pick the ribbon and the backing.

These are just a few ideas – if you don’t see what you need or have questions, just email (ThePrincess@PreppyPrincess.com) and we’ll do everything within our power to help find the perfect gift for those on your list… and don’t forget a little trinket for yourself, after all, who is more deserving?

We leave you with Silly Tilly’s thoughts on the Thanksgiving holiday.

Until next time, we hope your shopping carts are filled with fun and joy.

Latest J. Crew Collaboration, ‘Palm Beach Preppy’

Hello-Hello, happy Friday!

We have all manner of tidbits today, so we shall jump right in with a look at the new Angela Adams for J. Crew bags. The collection launched today.

The bags are made of recycled sailcloth, an outstanding and highly durable fabric perfect for a tote.

All bags shown above retail at $198 at J. Crew, they are also available online.

We have long been fond of this designer, below two of the bags on the Angela Adams site.

In other Crew news, we have previously chatted about the J. Crew launch on Net-a-Porter, that collection has debuted.

This post on Australia’s version of fashion site FabSugar has more.

“Get those Visas out peeps, because this is one preppy-chic label which is just too good to ignore.”

A reminder, this is from the Net-a-Porter collection available internationally; currently only one J. Crew item is seen on the upscale discounter’s US site.

Next, a quick look at swimwear from Strong Boalt, described by the fab team over at Refinery 29 as Palm Beach Preppy.

“The prepped-out, sexy, and summery shots are totally Lilly Pulitzer-meets-Vilbrequin-meets-Saturday’s Surf NYC, with a vintage, Cali-cool aesthetic that’s putting us in a mood for an uber strong gimlet. So guys, pack up an L.L. Bean tote: You know you’ll be rocking these to some Vampire Weekend tracks come Memorial Day weekend.”

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And then there is this: the List of Preppy Baby Names. Now, call us crazy, but we are a tad stymied by some of the names selected for the list:

  • Fortune
  • Veina
  • Wannie
  • Wusshy
  • Xeiss
  • Yemer
  • Yupey

And those are from the list of Girls’ Names.

Yesterday we offered a lengthy listing of just some of the new merchandise we’ll be adding to our Lilly Pulitzer Stationery and Gift line, available mid-summer.  One of the personalized items to be offered is an acrylic tray; below we show the version we shall be carrying in our Jonathan Adler Nifty Gifties collection.

(We already have those snappy Reusable Plastic Tumblers in stock.)

For a bit of Friday Fun we show actor Ed Westwick at last night’s party celebrating the 30th Anniversary for Express stores.

The stars from that favorite faux prep school show, Gossip Girl, is shown below with Chanel Iman, Caroline Trentini, Elettra Wiedemann.

Below, Mr. Westwick’s costar, Chace Crawford, headed into this week’s CW upfront presentation. (The annual presentation to advertiser and agencies, yours truly has been through many of these and they are always fascinating.)

Via I'm Not Obsessed

The network is only introducing two new shows, Nikita and Hellcats (ahem); the latter is described as a cheerleading drama.  Indeed.

Ahem.

With that we say g’bye until next time, may your weekend be filled with sunshine!

Do Not Read if Offended by Shameless Self-Promotion

Hello-Hello and happy springtime day to all!

Welcome to one of only two special days we have every year at Princess InterPlanetary HQ, it’s our special post celebrating the “Not an April Fool” sale, when everything at The Preppy Princess is 20% off. (Our only other big day like this is Pink and Green Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving.)  If thinking about shopping, do use promo code APRILDEAL to receive your discount, this special offer expires at midnight tonight (April 1st).

Such an auspicious occasion prompts wretched and shameless self-promotion as we focus on a few goodies from our little store. And because we don’t want to simply flirt with impropriety, we want to step madly into that vast commercial abyss with flagrant references to the “M word,” providing actual prices for each item shown. (The horror.) Psssst, these are the prices before your 20% discount, so they are even more fiscally friendly!

We begin with one of our favorite items this spring, the Scout Original Dean-o Tote in solid colors ($30), we want one in every color.  Sadly, one of each is not something the Consort can wrap his brain around.

Scout Original Deano at PreppyPrincess.com

The sale means all of our custom grosgrain ribbon belts (starting at $19 for Tiny Preps and $23 for the grownups) and Key Fobs ($6) are even better deals…

…not to mention we have added several new ribbon styles, including one that Gator fans might like.

If looking for something a tad brighter, our Candi Belts ($48) or Flip Flops ($48) might be in order.

The color combinations are loads of fun and more-than-versatile, below we show the Stewart pattern followed by Gum Drop, the green and purple together make a great style statement IOHO.

We suspect The Queen Mother and a few other Spartan fans might opt for the Spearmint pair in green and white. The colors would be particularly stylish this weekend, I understand her team has some sort of basketball game in Indianapolis on Saturday. (Heh-heh-heh.)

Don’t forget about your four-legged family members, all of our grosgrain goodies are available as Dog and Cat Collars, Harnesses, and Leashes.

The sale also offers an opportunity to snag our new Jonathan Adler Pocket Papers ($4.50) as well as the Jonathan Adler Note Cubes ($12.50) at a great price.

And to get a jump on party planning for graduations, weddings, and other goings-on.  Lilly Pulitzer has just what you need for special occasions, including re-useable Plastic Tumblers ($15) that are dishwasher safe, making them eco-friendly, and Beverage Napkins with Fun Savings ($5), excellent conversation starters.

Our  new Monogramed Polka Dot and Striped Garden Flags ($40) are perfect for gifting…

As are the Personalized Argyle Doormats ($39) and Monogramed House Flags ($59).

Our Kiel James Patrick collection is one of our fastest-growing lines, with Earrings ($28), Headbands ($26) and Braided Rope Bracelets ($35 – $58) all sporting a nautical touch. The exclusive Preppy Princess Pink/Green/White model is flying out the door.

This doesn’t begin to mention our Preppy Paper goods or Lunch Bags, the fab Towels or Pillows, and scads of other treasures.  We’ll have to leave those for you to discover at your own pace, we must scoot so we can organize the elves to handle the deluge of orders… eek!

The Nautical Prep

Hello-Hello! We hope the gorgeous sun we are seeing here at the Prepatorium is shining for all of our cherished readers, but particularly for our drenched and sodden friends in those areas pounded by yesterday’s record-breaking downpours.

The sun prompts more thoughts of boats and beaches, so we gaze upon goodies in this genre today, beginning with items for the smaller preps in your life.

We think the Girl’s Nautical Capri set is darling, as is the Little Me Nautical Romper, covered in sailboats and anchors.

We’re somewhat taken by the Oceanside Sleep Shorts (for grownup girls) and your MOTH (Man Of The House) might find the Old Port Graphic Tee appealing, both items are from one of our faves, LL Bean.

We just love the Coastal Crab hooked pillow as well as the Embroidered Crab linen pillow, both can be found at Blue Barnacles.

The red, white and blue Anchor Duffle on the left is from Fred Flare, the Anchors & Stripes Vinyl Handbag on the right was discovered at a site called PlasticLand(?).

. .

Also popular looks, the Straw Studios Anchor Tote and the Heart Anchor Tote.

Because one can never have too many reuseable market bags, below left we show the elegant Tote Aweigh eco-friendly bag ($13.99) at ModCloth, our eco-prep Anchors Away ($14) market bag is insulated, often a plus for getting things home from the market.

If seeking heels with a sea-going motif the 56 Platform Mary Jane might be for you, or Alberta Ferretti’s Nautical Wedge Sandals.

Not for us, but then, the Maine Isle Flip Flops at LL Bean are probably more our speed.

Of course, when researching one of these little thematic posts one always bumps into thing things not completely in sync with personal tastes; the TUK Nautical Anchor Heart Striped Heel Platform Double Strap Maryjanes is in this category.

Perhaps we’re not seeing their full potential.

Nautically-inspired jewelry is always fun, below we share Anchor Necklaces at Cherry Red Boutique, only $9 and $10, quite the bargain for the younger set.

When it comes to home decor, Targét offers the Oversized Striped Wall Clock, along with some cute Double-walled Plastic Tumblers (à la Tervis perhaps?).

The Nautical Lamp is available at Posh Tots, while Land of Nod carries this “Totally Nautical Bedding, Dude“.

We head back to Le Boutique Targét for this final item:

Target

The Paws Aboard Doggy Life Jacket comes in a variety of sizes and is made of nylon.

We might just have to do another post on this topic, we saw oodles of goodies we would like to share, from clothing and home accessories to more jewelry….hhhm.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A few quick hits:

  • Our friend Lila (aka Madison Avenue Spy) has a wonderful interview with Lilly Pulitzer’s design director, Janie Schoenborn, found here.
  • We have a gentle reminder for those interested in tomorrow’s Princess event:

DON'T FORGET....

Our ‘Not an April Fool’ special gets underway at midnight tonight: everything at The Princess is 20% off for one-day-only, ending at 11:59pm tomorrow (Thursday, April 1st) night. The promo code to enter at checkout is APRILDEAL, all one word.

The sale includes everything at the shop, from our brand new Jonathan Adler Nifty Gifties to our Lilly Pulitzer and Kiel James Patrick collections; our Greek Preppy paper and bag tags, the new monogramed Argyle Doormats and House Flags (talk about a great wedding gift!) in our Preppy Home Collection, and other preppy standards you have come to expect, our Ribbon Flip Flops, Custom Grosgrain Belts, and Scout totes, to name just a few.  We hope to see you there!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who entered, Tweeted, became a Facebook fan, and/or posted this on their blog!

This is the most fun we have had doing a Giveaway, but need to know if you liked it; is having multiple winners of multiple prizes a good way to go, or would you prefer it simply be one prize? Did you like the cross-section of prizes, or would you prefer the selection be all one product line? Do tell, because these are your giveaways, we are merely the intermediary, and we want them to be what you want, not simply our notion of what is fun.

Until next time, grins and giggles to all!
