Hello-Hello, and happy Friday. We hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving, we certainly did, although The Consort was a bit under the weather. My biggest contribution was ensuring the marshmallows were “crunchy, but not burned”.
Today we are brief, sharing something that we hope will bring smiles to your faces, some of the holiday window displays in the city.
At Bergdorf they continue to exude an uptown elegance.
Saks unveiled its windows on Monday, you can see photos on the retailer’s Facebook page.
This year’s theme revolves around the snowflake, dancers from the American Ballet Theatre performed at the unveiling, and there was also a light show projected on the building.
Trace Adkins performed, the event was a benefit for the Red Cross, the entertainer is this year’s spokesperson for the organization’s Holiday Giving Campaign.
At Barneys, it’s all about ‘Disney’s Electric Holiday,’ below we show renderings of characters for the windows. Left to right, Minnie Mouse in Lanvin, Goofy wears Balmain, and Daisy Duck is dressed by Dolce and Gabbana.

The windows provoked controversy because of the slimmed-down Minnie Mouse, they were unveiled last week.
Sarah Jessica Parker was on hand.
It looks like more traditional Minnie silhouettes are used for videos seen in the displays.
Bloomingdale’s theme this year is Cirque de Soleil.
These photos come via the good folks at Racked.
The colors are rich and saturated, perfect for the theme.
Lord and Taylor’s windows celebrate holiday traditions from around the world.
More from the company’s website:
“Sharing the story of Santa Claus on his day off, traveling around the world to discover global holiday traditions, the windows are inspired by picturesque locations during the holidays and the customs celebrated among friends and family worldwide.
The scene in Central Park looks darling.

May the rest of your weekend be all you hope, and then some!
